About the Author
Robert J. Shade is is a former naval officer, whose career led to command of three ships, including a guided missile destroyer. After leaving the service, he practiced tax and small business accounting in Northern Virginia. He resides with his family in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.
Robert earned a Bachelor’s Degree in American History at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Master’s Degree in Financial Management at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. He has previously authored non-fiction articles in military journals including The U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings.
